Step 3: Real-World Reliability & Public Behavior
This is the final step in the Real-Life Ready Dog Training Program.
Urban Class is designed for dogs who have a foundation of obedience and are ready to apply their skills in real-world environments with real distractions.
Most dogs can listen in controlled settings—but true reliability is built when those skills are practiced in a variety of real-life situations.
Where Training Becomes Real
Each class takes place in a different real-world location throughout the Vancouver area.
Because every environment is different, no two classes are ever the same. Your dog will learn to adapt, stay focused, and respond reliably as situations change.
This is where training truly starts to carry over into everyday life.
What This Class Focuses On
Over 6 weeks, we work through:
-
Public behavior and leash manners in busy environments
-
Maintaining focus around people, dogs, and distractions
-
Calm behavior in new and unpredictable settings
-
Advanced communication between you and your dog
-
Real-life scenarios you encounter in everyday outings
What Makes This Class Different
-
Rotating locations each week
-
Real-world exposure instead of controlled environments
-
Small class size (max 4 dogs)
-
Hands-on coaching in real situations
By the End of This Program
Your dog will begin to:
-
Maintain focus in high-distraction environments
-
Walk calmly in public spaces
-
Respond more reliably outside of training settings
-
Show improved confidence and composure
Continued Training & Progression
Because each class cycle introduces new environments and challenges, many clients choose to repeat Urban Class to continue building reliability and confidence in different real-world situations.
Dogs benefit from ongoing exposure, and each round strengthens their ability to stay consistent no matter where you go.

If your dog is still working on basic skills or focus, Beginning Obedience is usually the best next step.
